On Friday, 23 February, Skegness College, part of the TEC Partnership, celebrated an official opening with a special ceremony attended by partners and guests from across the region.
Supported by a £14 million government-funded Connected Coast Town Deal, Skegness College’s new campus is making a significant impact on the local community by providing accessible education opportunities in critical areas such as construction, engineering, hospitality, tourism, digital skills training, and adult learning.
Ann Hardy, CEO of TEC Partnership, shared: “We’re delighted to officially open the campus and celebrate with the people and partners that made it all possible. Our students have been diving into the new campus, making use of the new facilities and learning new skills, and I’m delighted that our project partners can see the outcome of their efforts first-hand today.
“We’d like to thank Connected Coast, Hobson & Porter, East Lindsey District Council, and our own incredible staff for all their hard work and dedication in seeing this project through to fruition. Thank you for creating new opportunities for all our students, for generations to come.”
Chris Baron, Chair of Connected Coast, who officially opened the campus in a plaque unveiling ceremony, added: “It is an absolute pleasure to be able to mark the opening of the brand-new Skegness College and see the Connected Coast board’s long-held ambition become reality in the form of this impressive facility.
“This has been our biggest Towns Fund project along our East coast, and I firmly believe that it will have a significant impact on the aspirations of our community, allowing learners access to more and different training opportunities.
“I look forward to seeing the college thrive in the months and years ahead, and I wish everyone who learns here the very best with their studies and future careers.”
With planning permission secured from the East Lindsey District Council as part of the Skegness Gateway and construction led by Hobson & Porter, the Wainfleet Road site opened to students in September 2025 for further education courses and adult learning in partnership with National Employer Training.
