Passengers travelling to and from Skegness are facing disruption today, with multiple rail services affected between Skegness, Boston and Nottingham.
Operator East Midlands Railway has confirmed a number of issues impacting journeys this afternoon and evening, including a member of train crew being taken ill and a tree blocking the railway.
The 12:16 Skegness to Nottingham service (due 14:26) has been terminated early at Boston, meaning it will no longer continue to Heckington, Sleaford, Grantham, Bottesford, Bingham, Radcliffe-on-Trent or Nottingham. This is due to the train conductor being taken ill.
Meanwhile, the 13:45 Nottingham to Skegness service (due 15:54) is currently delayed at Boston after a tree was reported to be blocking the railway line.
Further disruption is expected later this evening. The 18:45 Nottingham to Skegness service (due 20:54) will now start from Boston, meaning it will not run from Nottingham or call at Radcliffe-on-Trent, Bingham, Aslockton, Bottesford, Grantham, Sleaford or Heckington due to the same obstruction on the line.
Passengers travelling to or from Skegness are advised to check before they travel and allow extra time for their journeys while the situation is resolved.
Updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
